Our Coir Pots are incredibly effective at absorbing water and help keep plant roots moist, while at the same time, having excellent drainage to prevent plant flooding. The perfect eco-friendly alternative to plastic pots, roots grow through the coir pot which means, there is no transplanting shock when repotting.

You can grow almost any plant in coco coir as the material acts just like any other potting soil or peat. As long as you know what you are doing, almost all plants will benefit from being planted in coco coir. You can use Coco fibre to grow everything from exotic plants, to even more common plants and flowers.

These Coir Pots start off just like plastic pots, but the roots grow through the sides of the pot ready for potting or planting out – no root disturbance for the plant and no plastic pots for you to throw away. Made from coir which is a renewable resources and is biodegradable.

Since the natural fibres are native to sub-tropical climates, they’re also highly resilient to water. Coir can get wet with fresh or saltwater and still maintain its integrity as a rug. It’s also resistant to mould and mildew, which are common problems for mats in moist areas, like the kitchen.

A good quality coco medium does not break down as fast as other media, like peat. As coir does not tend to be easily struck by disease, which makes for a very good medium to re-use. Potentially up to a few times before discarding to the garden where it makes a great soil amendment.
