Buffered Coco Husk Chips Block

Buffered coconut husk chips is a type of horticultural substrate made from the fibrous material found between the hard outer shell and the flesh of a coconut. Like regular coconut husk chips, it is an organic and renewable resource that is used as a growing medium for plants. The buffered coconut husk chips are specially treated to remove excess salts and other impurities that could be harmful to plants. This process is known as buffering, and it involves soaking the coconut husk chips in a solution of water and calcium nitrate. Buffered coconut husk chips are commonly used in hydroponic and soilless growing systems, as well as for landscaping and gardening.

Buffered coconut husk chips are compressed into a block shape for ease of handling and transportation. When the block is hydrated, it expands and breaks apart, providing a loose, aerated medium that is ideal for growing plants. This substrate is an excellent alternative to traditional growing media as it is lightweight, sustainable, and has a high cation exchange capacity, which helps plants absorb nutrients more efficiently.
