What is the base material of coir?
Coir is a lignocellulosic natural fiber. It is a seed-hair fiber obtained from the outer shell, or husk, of the coconut, the fruit of Cocos nucifera, a tropical plant of the Arecaceae (Palmae) family. The husk comprises ca. 30 wt% coir fibers and 70 wt% pith.
What are the two types of coir?
There are two types of Coir: the more commonly used brown fibre, which is obtained from mature coconuts, and finer white fibre, which is extracted from immature green coconuts after soaking for up to 10 months.
How do you make coco dust?
Steps to prepare:
Collect coconut husk and store them in a clean place.
After pulling out fibers, dry them.
Grind them in a mixer grinder to a fine powder
Remove the fibers out of Coco Peat powder with the help of a sieve.

How is cocopeat powder made?
A fine powder is made from the husks of coconuts ground into cocopeat. Afterwards, the powder is mixed with water and formed into pellets. The pellets are then dried in the sun or a kiln. This material is environmentally conscious, unlike peat moss, which is a non-renewable resource.
